Michael J. Dupey Jr., 75, of 1409 Fox Run Court, Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 after a long struggle with heart disease.
He was born Nov. 12, 1933 in Chippewa Falls to Mary (Jackering) and Michael Dupey Sr. He attended Holy Ghost School and graduated from McDonell High School in 1951.
Mike served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, where he was stationed in Germany.
He married Jean Lewis on Sept. 13, 1958 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Chippewa Falls. He was employed as a salesman for Scholl Distributing for many years and later worked for the town of Lafayette. Mike also served two terms as supervisor for the town of Lafayette.
He was a long time member of St. Charles Borromeo, Chippewa Falls and was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Chippewa Falls. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and playing cards. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include: his wife of 51 years, Jean Dupey of Chippewa Falls; a daughter, Michele (Dale) Hawkins of Chippewa Falls; a son, Mark Dupey of Fall Creek; three sisters, Helen Kouba of Chippewa Falls, Mary Austin of Eau Claire, Connie Rose of Colorado; a brother, David (Janice) Dupey of Exeland; a sister-in-law, Karol Hedrington of Chippewa Falls; a brother-in-law, Bruce (Diane) Lewis of Chippewa Falls; and his grand-dog, Jessie.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Patricia Faschingbauer-Herrmann; and two brothers, James and Robert Dupey.
A private family service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 12 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Fr. Brian Jazdzewski officiating. Burial will be in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cadott.
