Ruth M. Stainer

Ruth M. Stainer, age 96, passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie.

Ruth was born Oct. 19, 1914, in the Town of Menomonie to Phillip and Lillian (Smith) Kistner. She attended Menomonie High School.

Ruth married Charles on Nov. 25, 1936, at Peace Lutheran Church.

She was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church and Beaver Creek Homemakers.  She was very active in 4H and never missed the Dunn County Fair in more than 60 years. 

Ruth retired from the Dunn County Court House.  She also worked the family farm.  After Ruth and Charles moved to town, Ruth would still make lunch and bring it out to the fields for Keith and the crew.

Ruth is survived by one son, Keith Stainer; one daughter, Elaine (Bill) Stratton; five grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; one brother; and two sisters.

The family would like to thank the Dunn County Health Care Center for the wonderful care.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor David Whelan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
