Theodore Krei Obituary

THORP -- Theodore W. Krei, 64, of Thorp, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital, in Stanley.

Theodore Walter Krei was born on July 1, 1941, in Randolph, Neb., the son of Theodore and Teresa (Lewis) Krei. He spent most of his childhood in Nebraska before his family moved to Greenwood in March of 1957, where Ted completed his education, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 until 1962, and then in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1962 until 1965.

Ted was united in marriage to Gloria Carson in Belfast, Maine in 1962. They moved to Wisconsin in 1969 and later divorced. He then married Beverly Hennig on Aug. 7, 1981, in Cadott. They moved to the town of Worden, rural Thorp, and raised their family. Ted worked as an electrician for Industrial Electric and B&B Electric for over 30 years. His wife Beverly died on Aug. 26, 2005. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #953 in Eau Claire and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by: four daughters, Barbara (Jeff) Helland of Augusta, Karen Brovan of Chippewa Falls, Kimberly (Robert) Ottinger of Thorp and Lisa (Jamie) Boyer of Neillsville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Teresa Zocher of Greenwood; one brother, Harold (Mary) Krei of Fall Creek; one sister, Janet (James) Petkovsek of Greenwood; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, Beverly, he was preceded in death by: his father; and one step-daughter, Lori Roberts.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005, at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel, in Thorp, with Pastor George Olinske officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday, Sept. 22 at Thorp Funeral Home.
