Robert John "Bob" Krei

Robert John "Bob" Krei, 73, of Sioux City passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, after a serious fall with failing health, at a local care center.
Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside will be held at the Laurel Cemetery. Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Bob was born June 6, 1949, in Laurel, NE, the son of Walter and Lora Mae (Sovereign) Krei. He graduated from Laurel High School in 1967 and was drafted by the United States Army, serving in Vietnam as a medic for two years. After returning from Vietnam, Bob enrolled in a technical school in Cedar Rapids, IA. He worked as a carpenter for a short time before becoming an operator at the Sioux City Water Treatment Plant where he retired from after more than 30 years of work.
Survivors include his daughter Amber Carlson of Florida; three grandchildren: Cash, Gavin, and Kennedy; his sister LaVonne Madsen of Laurel, NE, two brothers: Darrell (Anita) Krei of Ankeny, Iowa, and Dale (JoAnn) Krei of South Sioux City, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
