Timothy P. O'Meara, age 45, of Knapp, died from a snowmobile accident in Iron River, on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011.
Tim was born on Sept. 9, 1965, in Baldwin. He attended Spring Valley High School, where he participated in football and wrestling and was senior class president. Tim attended a year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and then transferred to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where he received his bachelor of science degree.
In 1987, he married Mary Larson and they had one child, Alicia Rose O'Meara. Following the death of his first wife, he married Angie Sanford in 1997. Together they had two sons, Jacob and Lane O'Meara.
In 1990, he started Timberline Contractors of Knapp, a company that grew to 50 employees.
Tim loved coaching children at Glenwood City in football, wrestling and baseball. He and his family also loved traveling to Mexico, Hawaii, Turks and Caicos and Florida. Tim was an avid hunter, fisherman and horseman. He especially loved spending time with his family at his Hayward lake home.
He is survived by his wife Angie; daughter, Alicia; sons, Jake and Lane; mother, Anne O'Meara (Strehlo); father Daniel O'Meara of Knapp; sisters Kristine (Mike) Dionne of Orlando, Fla., Maureen (Kory) Neises of Lake Elmo, Minn.; brother, John (Shawna Davis) O'Meara of Knapp; and grandmother, Bonnie O'Meara of Menomonie; mother-in-law, Darlene (Jim) Thompson of Wheeler; father-in-law, Elroy Sanford of Mayville; sisters-in-law, Kim (Duey) Davis of Spring Valley, and Vicki (James) Christmas of Glenwood City; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Glenwood City, with Fr. Norbert D'Mello officiating. Special music will be provided by Debbie Bowman, Megan O'Meara, and Lance and Kelly Wendlendt. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Glenwood City.
Bearers will be Mark Mattison, Chris Ullom, Dave Thatcher, Rob Logghe, Dave Shackleton, Dan Nelson, Mark Johnson, Sam Shackleton.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Glenwood City.
