CHRISTOPHER SIMMONS Christopher James Simmons, 38, of Bellona, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Chris was born at 1635 Toomey Rd. in Bellona on July 19, 1985 the son of Farrell and Shelly Simmons and attended Penn Yan Academy. Chris worked as a mechanic. He loved riding and working on his motorcycle. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and hiking and spending time with friends and family. Christopher was our son and deeply cherished, through thick and thin. He loved people, life and a good time. Those who knew him, will never forget him. He lives on. He is survived by his parents; sisters, Casey Simmons and Abigail Simmons; grandparents, Paul and Shirley Roe of Bellona, NY; and by several aunts, uncles, cousins; a niece, Claire Brunner and two nephews, Carson Brunner and Liam O'Konski. Psalms 116: all and Psalms 73:26 A private service will be held by his family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, Penn Yan, NY. Sending a to all of Mr. Simmons family and friends. I didn't personally know Chris, but having graduated a few years behind him, I knew of his legend.

I don't think I ever heard Chris's name in a statement or sentence without it being paired with a smile. Mr. Kriese talked of the fun Chis brought to FFA, my brothers have spoken on the strong community he always had around him, and it seems he tried to break every rule he could find. The older I get, the more I appreciate that viewpoint on the world.

Thank you, Chris Simmons, for all that you provided to so many in our little county.

38 is too soon for us, and yet we'll know of this name far beyond this moment.
