Carol Jackson Obituary

Carol R. Jackson, 81, passed away on Sunday morning, May 15, 2022, at her home in rural Gaston. Carol was born on Oct. 25, 1940, in Gas City, Indiana to the late Chester "Lee" and Maxine Perkins. She was a 1958 graduate of Jefferson Township High School. Carol married Donald Jackson on Oct. 26, 1958. They were married 46 years before his death in 2004.

Carol worked in the dining commons at Taylor University for nearly 30 years. Carol cherished her role as a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member and past treasurer of Prairie Grove Church. Carol enjoyed camping and spending time with her family and friends.

Carol is survived by three children, Sharon Jackson, Brenda Craig, and Gary Jackson (wife Sandy); four grandchildren, Kathy Rastakhiz, Nikki Pick (husband Trey), Chad Jackson (wife Sarah), and Bryan Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Chase and Paisley Jackson, and Henry and Julia Pick; and several nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Richard Craig; two sister, Mary Shrader and Lois Steckley; and brother, Don Perkins.

A funeral service to celebrate Carol's life will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Prairie Grove Church, 16775 N. County Road 775 W., Gaston, IN 47342. Pastor Brian Wise will officiate. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery. Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Thursday, at Prairie Grove Church. Memorial contributions may be given to Prairie Grove Church in memory of Carol.
