James L. Leming, age 82, of Marion, died peacefully on May 28, 2025. He was born April 6, 1943, in Marion, IN, to the late James Edwin and Lois (Gregg) Leming.
He was a 1961 graduate of Oak Hill High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Later he married Nancy Sue Weaver, and the two began raising a family. James worked for Dana Spicer for 38 years, retiring in 2002. He was also a 50-year member and 32nd degree Master Mason, in addition to being a 50-year member of Scottish Rite.
James loved bowling and was State Bowling President along with being inducted into the Hall of Fame at the local and state levels. Jim bowled in 35 national tournaments. He also enjoyed playing softball, water skiing, golf, and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Sue Leming; brother, Charles "Chuck" Leming, and sister, Carolyn Crain. He is survived by his sons, Mark (Cindy) Leming and Mike (Alicia) Leming; sisters, Pam Young, Paula Bonham, and Patricia Leming; brothers, Vernon Leming and Jerry Leming; five grandchildren, Mitchal (Jennifer) Leming, Bryce (Becka) Leming, Cameron, Emma, and Collins Leming, with their mother, Angela; additional children, Alayna, Jared, and Jaden Prickett.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 5 to 7PM at Faith Harvest Church, 2015 County Rd 300 W, Marion, IN 46952. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 12 pm at the church, with Pastor Mitch Norwood officiating.
Family will begin receiving friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Marion, IN. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Tuesday between 3 and 5PM.
