Kathryn J. "Kathy" Walters, 66, of Marion, Indiana, passed away on August 7, 2025, in her Marion home.
Born on August 17, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri, Kathy was the daughter of Maurice and Geneva (Denney) Haskett. She moved with her parents to Indiana as a baby and graduated from Marion High School in 1976. Her commitment to lifelong learning led her to earn a psychology degree from Purdue University in 1996. Her education solidified her career in social work.

On May 29, 1977, Kathy married her best friend and lifelong companion, Michael J. Walters. Their marriage was a true partnership filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Together they shared a passion for travel – highlighted by a memorable trip to Australia – and enjoyed many spontaneous winter getaways to Florida and other southern states.
Kathy had a generous spirit and a heart devoted to caring for others. She was known as the family caregiver – always present with compassion and strength for those who needed her most. Holidays were especially meaningful for Kathy and she made each one magical for those around her.
She also remained deeply connected to her roots and community by helping organize reunions for the Marion High School Class of 1976 over the years.
