Robert Curtis Jones, 64, of Loogootee (formerly of Marion), Indiana, passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Heart to Heart Hospice Inpatient Center in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born on Aug. 31, 1958 in Princeton, Indiana to Russell and Elfriede (Mayer) Jones. Rob married Karen Ellis on October 23, 1982.
Rob is a 1977 graduate of North Daviess High School and a 1981 graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. degree in engineering. He retired from Indiana Michigan Power after 37 years as a technologist. Rob is a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He served on the boards of the Deer Creek Conservation Club and Deer Creek Realty Corp. Rob had been an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 401.Rob enjoyed hiking, camping, target shooting, reading and spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by this parents, Russell and Elfriede Jones and brother-in-law, Dennis Ash.
Rob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Jones; son Chadwick Jones; daughter Kimberly Jones; brothers Bradley (Ellen) Jones, Shelby, NC and Bruce (Michelle) Jones, Loogootee; brother & sister-in law Keith and Darlene Ellis; and sister-in-law Barbara Ash.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee, Indiana. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana and Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Cemetery Fund or the Alzheimer's Association.
