Robert Lee "Bob" Lester, age 66 of LaFontaine passed away on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 in his home.
Bob was born on May 30, 1955, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Charles J. "CJ" and Winifred "Honey" (Huffman) Lester.
Bob was recently retired. His greatest joy in life was time spent with his four precious grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman and nature lover. He loved arrowhead hunting, fishing, and game hunting. He was a passionate mentor and advocate of nature and the outdoors. Whether it was a listening ear or offering advice, Bob was always there. Bob was quite the prankster and was known for his ornery smile. He took great joy in making others laugh.
He is survived by his children, Mark (Julie) Lester of Albany, Indiana, and Kelly (Justin) Riddle of Marion; four grandchildren, Luke Lester, Landon Lester, Jude Riddle and Kali Riddle; his former wife, Laura (Steven) Bates of Marion; his beloved sister, Sara Neeley of Gainesville, Georgia; brothers, Charles "Chuck" (Teresa) Lester, Jr. of Marion, Dick Lester of Charlotte, N. Carolina, and Bill (Tracy) Lester of Marion; many nieces and nephews; and a host of close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Arbogast.
A visitation for friends and family will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. A Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 p.m., in the funeral home with Reverend Andrew Morrell officiating.

I am stunned at Bobby's passing and I simply do not have words to describe my sadness. I wish Godspeed for his children, Mark and Kelly and their families, and also his sister Sara, brothers Richard, Chucky, and Bill.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Bob. I grew up on Lawson road in Marion Indiana when Bob and his family lived on Lantern Lane. I grow up running around with Bob. I went to school with Bob. Bob taught me a lot about hunting and trapping during those years when we where growing up. Bob was a good friend. I moved away from Marion after being married to pursue a career in Law Enforcement. Bob will be missed. Prayers to his family and friends.
