Send FlowersShawn M. Donovan, 47, of Fairmount, entered eternity on Friday, August 8, 2025, at IU Ball Memorial surrounded by his family after a brief illness.
Shawn was born on October 27, 1977 in Marion, Indiana, son of Herb and Lory (Strasser) Collier. He attended Madison-Grant High School. He married Abigail M. Meyers on July 21, 2001 at Lighthouse Assembly.
Shawn was a fork lift driver for Red Gold and attended Lighthouse Assembly of God. Shawns first priority was always his family. He would stop anything for them. He was a gentle, simple, and kind hearted man that always offered a calming presence to everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed being outdoors especially camping and fishing. He also enjoyed working on cars. He was a proud Dad to this children and a proud Poppy to his twin granddaughters.
Shawn is survived by his wife of 24 years Abigail; children, Joshua Meyers, Marion, Alexander (Katie) Donovan, Fairmount, Melanie Donovan, Fairmount; grandchildren, Evelyn and Harlow Meyers; Mom and Dad Lory and Herb Collier; grandmother, Barbara Strasser; mother-in-law Diana Whelchel; father-in-law Greg Meyers; sister-in-law Allison Elkins, niece and nephew, Jaxyn Meyers and Jordyn Atkinson. Shawn had no siblings but was raised with cousins who were like sisters to him, Audra Kabel and Barb Pennington. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Shawn was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Melvin Strasser and paternal grandmother, Bonnie Kruger; uncles, Kirk and Karl Strasser; and aunt, Lynda Cretsinger.
Services for Shawn have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, where visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 4-8 PM and 1 hour prior the funeral. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11 AM with Pastor Jerry Gallaway officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Assembly of God, 5909 S. Jay Street, Marion, Indiana 46953 or at the funeral home.
