Brett, I will always miss the good times we shared. You were always a good friend to me and I thought of you as family. It has been tough these last few weeks knowing that I would say goodbye to you for the last time. I could fill the pages of many books with my memories of you. You were a big part of my life and I will always remember you and smile. I love you my friend and I will see you again. Goodbye "little brother"

My thoughts and prayers have been with you. It's taken me awhile to write as I've been so deeply saddened by this. As I told my mother, Theada, I cannot say I understand as I've never lost a child or grandchild. I can say I understand the loss in as much as my grandparents who helped to raise me. May his memories live forever in your hearts and please know that your friends care and want to help if they can even if it's just to listen or sit with you and say nothing. {*hugs*} CP: JRMay

What a fantastic "goodbye" he left for you all. I know that doesn't ease your pain, and I am not making light of it, but it is SO obvious his love for you all. You have all the prayers I can muster. I pray that God will hold you in the palm of his hands as you go through this most difficult time in your lives now.

My prayers go out to Brett's family

In high school Brett was my neighbor. I'd like to think that we became pretty good friends over the 4 years i knew him. He was my brothers best friend. Since i heard he passed away I can't stop thinking about all the silly memories, and how I made fun of him for being a guy and having the girliest hand writing I'd ever seen. This came as such a shock to me.

Nature

As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know.

BRETT, YOUR MOTHER IS STILL IN SHOCK, I KNOW FROM OUR LATE NIGHT CHATS AT THE LAKE THAT YOU WORRIED ABOUT HER SINCE THE ACCIDENT. YOU TOOK SUCH GOOD CARE OF HER AND SHE LOVED YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH, I WILL MAKE SURE SHE COMES TO YOUR SITE TO SEE THE PICTURES AND TO LEAVE HER ENTRY. WE LOVE AND MISS YOU ALREADY. I AM SAD YOU WENT AWAY SO SOON. I PUT SOME OF MY FAVORITE PICTURES OF YOU IN THE PHOTO ALBUM, SHOULD TAKE IN A COUPLE OF HOURS...BRETT SAVE A SPOT FOR GRANNY, AS WE WALK YOU TO THE "STAIRWAY OF HEAVEN" WOULD YOU PLEASE MEET ME AT THE PEARLY GATES, SO I DON'T GET LOST. I LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH AND I AM SO PROUD YOU GRADUATED. I ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE THE ONE TO HELP GUIDE YOUR SISTERS AND BROTHER IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. TODAY IS HARD - THIS IS MY SECOND ENTRY, I CAN NOT BELIEVE YOU ARE GONE! YOU WERE A PRECIOUS GRAND BABY AND THE MOST SPECIAL THING IN MY HEART - I WAS THE FIRST TO HOLD YOU WHEN YOU WERE BORN, WHEN THEY WENT TO HAND YOU TO YOUR MOM, SHE SAID "PLEASE LET MY MOM HOLD HIM FIRST". I KEPT HER AND YOUR DAD CRACKING UP WHILE SHE WAS IN LABOR, WHAT A HAPPY DAY FOR US ALL..YOU WILL BE MISSED EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. GRANNY RIZZO

Brett and I rode the same bus in high school. I liked talking to him; he was very friendly. I'm so sorry to hear that he passed away...
To his family: I'm very sorry for your loss. Remember the good times. I look forward to the day when there will be no more pain, no more death, and no more tears.
