Charles Kemper Obituary

Charles Ray Kemper II, 45, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Born on December 4, 1979 in Brooksville, Florida, Ray was raised in Crystal River, where he developed a deep love for family, storytelling, and the rich history that shaped his life.

He was an avid History buff, enjoyed camping with his family, spending time with friends, neighbors, and family.

He was a devoted husband to Bantawan "Oa" Kemper, and a loving father to his two sons, Nicholas and Matthew, who were the light of his life. Ray was the beloved son of Frances Ann Smith Kemper and William Kemper (Janice). He is survived by his sister, Natalie Kemper Gimpelevich (Roman) in Tampa, FL; nephew David Gimpelevich and niece Arden Gimpelevich; his stepsister, Kristy Nishimoto in Seattle, WA; and his stepbrother, Russell Nishimoto (Sheila) in Seattle, WA.

Ray also leaves behind his cherished Uncle Eddie and Aunt Donna McLeod, who affectionately called him "Raybo" and "Ramondo"; dear cousins Dustin Bosworth (Teri), Stephanie McLeod Diaz (Adam), and Candice Bosworth, along with many extended family members and friends who were touched by his warmth and kindness.

Among those he held closest to his heart were his dear family friends Marie, Jeff, and Mykenzie Hager. Their love, support, and enduring friendship were instrumental in Ray's life and in the lives of his children. They were not just friends, but family in every way that mattered.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mary Jean Strickland Reynolds and Elizabeth Kemper, and his cousin, Michael Allen. Their memories lived on in Ray's heart and stories, and now he joins them in eternal peace.

Ray's heart was always with his family – he cherished every moment spent with them and found great joy in sharing stories, reflecting on memories, and preserving the legacy of those who came before him. He was known for his boundless love, his forgiving spirit, and his unwavering dedication to those he cared about. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of belonging to everyone around him.

Ray's legacy is one of love, compassion, and connection. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
