Daniel Bertoch Obituary
He is also survived by his father, Carl A. and his wife Sarah Bertoch of Crystal River; his mother, Janet B. Bertoch of Tampa; siblings, Jay, Fritz, Marty, Chris and Melissa. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Greg and Patrick.
Dan graduated from Emory University and practiced dentistry in Tampa for 30 years. Dan took great pride in his involvement in organized dentistry and the care he extended to his patients. He was an active member of the American Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, past president of Hillsborough County Dental Association, and was a Rotarian. Dan volunteered at the Judeo Christian Clinic, The Children's Home, and served as a board member of the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. He was a devoted husband, dad, and friend.
The family will be receiving friends at the Carrollwood Chapel on Thursday, August 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, August 12, at 11 a.m. at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church. Burial will be at St. John Methodist Church, 12390 W. Highway 328, Marion County. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to Suncoast Hospice, The Pediatric Cancer Foundation or The Children's Cancer Center. The family would like to thank Suncoast Hospice, orange team, for their loving care and support. Words of comfort may be expressed at www.blountcurry.com.

What a wonderful man. He treated my entire family and then grandchildren. He was more like a friend. I was one of his first patients when he took over the DDS office in Town n Country. I miss my friend.

Dan was loved by so many. He and I shared our mutual cancer experiences. He kept me going and even made me laugh! I'll always remember his dignity and humor, especially at the end of his life. Dan was a wonderful man. I will miss him.

It is amazing how much a Dentist can be a part of your life. I have been with Dr Bertoch for years as I imagine many of his clients were. Just an amazing person and dentist. I am so thankful to have shared in his life. Over the past 2 years every time I walk in the door I felt his presence and I am sure everytime I go still, he will be there. I offer sincere condolences to Dan's wife, children, family, friends,and colleagues. Dan was an ethical, talented, and compassionate dentist. He was respected and a tremendous leader in organized dentistry. Dr. Bertoch left a legacy as the ultimate professional.

I just learned of Dan's passing today. I send my deepest and sincerest condolences to Dan's family and friends. Although I have not seen Dan since we graduated together at King High School, I always remembered our friendship. Even back then I knew he was a "quality" person. I'm not surprised that he lived a life rich in meaningful relationships built on his natural way of helping others and making a positive difference in the lives of all he met. I know the sting of losing a beloved brother, Jerry, who also knew Dan well while in High School. To the Bertoch family, may the peace of God which passes all understanding be with you. May you also be filled with a sense of His Abiding Presence wherever you may be. Dan's sweet spirit is now living into eternity. We are all blessed for having him in our lives.

I was sad to hear that Dr. Bertoch had passed away. I've been a patient of his practice for 6 years now, since I've moved to Tampa. He was a wonderful and caring dentist. My thoughts go out to his family and colleagues.

My deeepest sympathy to Kay, Dana and Cody. Dan was the best! My children grew up at Dan's office and they felt it was their home. They have always been comfortable with Dr. Dan and have never had a fear of Dr's because of Dan. Your were so kind, friendly and personable from the day I met you. Dan Bertoch was so involved in the dental community. I had the pleasure of knowing him for over twenty five years as he was involved in the Florida State Dental & Dental Hygiene Examinations. He served as an examiner and in later years became an Assistant Exam Supervisor. He was a consultant for the North East Regional Board (NERB) and was nationally recognized. My thoughts and prayers are with his family!

To the Bertoch Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I knew Dan through Trina and Ted Hager. He was a very giving man and caring. He gave to everyone and never asked for anything in return. I was in need of a dentist late one night and he didn't esitiate to tell me to meet him at the office with my brother-in-law to take care of the painful tooth that I had. I will never forget that night. I went to him after that and was wonderful. I know that he is now in Heaven and he is no longer in pain of any kind. Just know that he will be watching down and smiling that handsome smile that he has. Kay, Dana and Cody, you will be in our thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.

Special people come into our lives when we least expect it..I was referred to Dr Dan's care in 1994.I had just lost my sister and was wanting my smile back.During my consultation with Dan he shared with me the grief he experienced when he lost his brother. We will always remember Dan as a true, loving friend. He never had an unkind word to say to anyone and if you were lucky enough to just know him, then you were surely blessed. Even thou I only met Dr.Bertoch once, when I needed a filling, I ccould tell he was genuinely concerned for my well being ,he made me feel more relaxed than any other dentist I had been to. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

My wife and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Bertoch. She has known him and been a patient of his for 29 years and myself for over 20 years. Dan was the friendliest doctor we have ever met. We know that through his faith in Jesus there is no more pain and battling of cancer but that he is now rejoicing with his Lord and Savior.
