David Kevin McKean, age 61, Inverness, Florida, passed away from cancer on October 24, 2022, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
David was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, on September 18, 1961, to Edmond J. and Sylvia (Uzzell) McKean and came to Citrus County from Brooksville, Florida. He was a professional land surveyor and owner of McKean and Associates Surveyors. Inc., in Inverness. David loved golfing with his friends at the Inverness Golf and Country Club, and grilling and smoking BBQ. He also loved his Buccaneers!
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 34 years, Marvene Hall McKean of Inverness; 3 children: Chad (Sheena) McKean of Floral City; Shannon McKean of Inverness; Fallon (Chris) Harrison, of Floral City; his mother, Sylvia McKean of Inverness; brother: Sean (Julie) McKean of Citrus Springs, FL; 2 sisters: Deborah (Rod) Warner of Newberry, FL and Elizabeth (Elmer) Lewis of Floral City, Fl. He was predeceased by his father, Edmond McKean on March 29, 2009.
David was a loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren: Cayden McKean, Dakota McKean, Logan Williams, Kaleb McKean, Maddox McKean, Mitchell Taaffe, Maddie McKean, Kennadee McKean, Walter Harrison, Miley Harrison and Austyn Harrison. He also leaves a sons of his heart, Patrick Sitze and Johnny Williams and our Laura Kline and Lucas; and multiple nieces and nephews. Thank you Dave for being in our lives, Son, Husband, Daddy, Grampy, Uncle Dave and friend to many. You are desperately loved David and missed!
There will be a Celebration of Life scheduled at the Inverness Golf & Country Club on Saturday, October 29, 2022, between the hours of 12:00 – 4:00 PM. Family and friends are cordially invited.
Cremation arrangements are with the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory

Dear Sylvia, Marvene and family. Please accept my love and sympathy for your loss. He was such a fixture at IGCC and he will be missed by so many. Sylvia - you will be in my prayers,I can imagine no greater pain than the loss of a child. Marvene- be gentle with yourself as you adjust to this new chapter in your life. May God surround all of you with His Grace and Peace.

My condolences to the McKean family on the loss of David. I had the pleasure of playing golf with Dave at Inverness Golf & Country Club. He was a joyful, delightful man. We all will miss him.
