Frank Bornholdt, Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Frank B. Bornholdt, 88, of Beverly Hills, FL, who died on Thursday, December 25, 2008, in Gainesville, FL, will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, Citrus Springs, FL, with Father Eric Peters as Celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Friends may call on the family at the Beverly Hills Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory on Sunday, December 28, 2008, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The family requests that memorials take the form of donations to a charity of choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at HooperFuneralHome.com.
He was born on March 15, 1920, in New York, NY, and was the son of the late William and Rose Buckle Bornholdt. He retired as a Sergeant from the New York Police Department after 20 years and later retired as a field officer from the United States Treasury Department also after 20 years. Mr. Bornholdt was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart for wounds received during combat.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, the 10-13 Police Retiree Club and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. Mr. Bornholdt enjoyed reading and football, A Jimmie Johnson fan, he enjoyed watching NASCAR. He loved playing games and doing research on his computer.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Ann T. Bornholdt of Beverly Hills, FL; 2 sons, Thomas F. Bornholdt of White Plains, NY and James G. Bornholdt of Waterbury, CT; 1 brother, John Bornholdt of New Jersey and a grandson, Christopher Bornholdt.

I am employed at Woodland Terrace of Citrus County. Frank was a very kind man and with a great attitude. He always had something nice to say when you entered his room and was always very appreciative. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I was honored to know Frank if only for a short period. I was his CNA at Woodland Terrace and he was a very nice man. I am very sorry for the lose of Frank and send my prayers to his lovely wife and Sons. God Bless You all!
