Karen Lowe Obituary

Karen Lowe, 77, was born to James and Ruth Spencer in Alliance, Ohio on April 10, 1945. She passed away peacefully in her sleep October 16, 2022.

Karen retired from Radford University in Virginia and moved to Florida in 2002. Karen worked part time for Kumon Math and Reading Center in Inverness.

Karen was a member of First Christian Church of Inverness. She was a volunteer secretary, sang with the praise team and choir, and was a member of the church missions board. She was a volunteer for Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast (Now known as VITAS).

Karen had great American pride shown as an Auxiliary member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4337, Inverness, Navy Seabees Veterans of America Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary Post 73 in Indiana.

Karen is survived by her husband: John Lowe, US Navy, Retired. She is also survived by her Marine daughter Christina Read and her husband Ross of FL, her son and 2 grandsons in NC, Sister Arlene Graber of FL, several step children and numerous step grand and great grandchildren.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Jean Lewers-Brail.

On Thursday, October 20, 2022, a Viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, with Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM, at First Christian Church: 2018 Colonade St, Inverness FL. Interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VITAS or to First Christian Church of Inverness, in her memory.
