Nicos Xenophontos Obituary

Nicos "Nick" Xenophontos, age 77, Inverness, died Sunday, October 24, 2010, at Shands at UF in Gainesville. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be Thursday, October 28, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Greek Orthodox Church in Lecanto. Burial will follow at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City. The family will receive friends in visitation Wednesday, October 27, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness.
The Trisagion Service will be at 7 p.m. Nick was born in Cyprus on June 1, 1933, to the late Xenophon and Despina Georgiou and came to this area in 1978 from Malverne, NY. A true family man, he was dedicated to serving his church at St. Michael the Archangel. He enjoyed golfing and gardening. Nick was the owner/operator of The Town House Restaurant in Inverness for many years.
His survivors include his wife of 23 years, Maria Xenophontos, Inverness; two sons, Christos (Lori) Xenophon, Inverness, and Nicos Xenophon Jr., Mesa, AZ; six daughters, Debra Helm, Tallahassee, FL, Rosemary (John) Maisel, Floral City, FL, Georgette "Gigi" (Bob) Klein, Inverness, Laura Clark, Winder, GA, Donna Xenophon, Inverness and Patricia (Raymond) Velez, Inverness; one stepson, Peter Panayi, Long Island, NY; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna, on March 12, 1986.
The friends so desire, the family requests memorial donations in Nick's name to St. Michael the Archangel Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, 4705 W. Gulf-to-Lake Hwy, Lecanto, FL 34461.

Donna is my Best Friend and im so sad for her. you guys Have been in my life for over 23 yrs now the good and the bad, but have always stuck by me i love you Donna (laura), Gigi (jesse & bob), Rosemary, trish (Ray). To All the Xenophon's Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. your family is a big part of our family for over 30 yrs we have worked together grew up together and shared many great memories from working at the town house restaurant (stop laughing)with great food to party's at Gigi& bobs house playing cards,swimming. going to watch donna play softball(what a arm) back in the day we have even taken vacations together in cedar key with our children, and many nights having dinner together while kids did home work. having a get together at Rosemary & Johns for drinks and good company. going to trish & rays wedding how beautiful to be apart of, and of course riding up to nick & maria's with donna there was always something cooking and you can bet you didn't leave hungry. rest in peace nick and may god bless you all.
