Roberta "Bobbi" Mae Borowski passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, in West Dundee, Illinois.
Born on April 23, 1940, to Ernest Elmer and Beatress "Ruby" Roberts in Detroit, Michigan, Bobbi and her brother, Ronald Dean, primarily grew up in Michigan, with stints in Tennessee and Arizona, before ultimately returning to Detroit. There she met the love of her life, James Borowski, through a mutual friend at the age of 14. Married at 18, they had three children and six grandchildren and were married for 62 years until his passing in 2021.
Bobbi and Jim enjoyed traveling throughout their lives, and her work as a travel agent took them to some of their favorite beaches – including Hawaii, Jamaica, The Cayman Islands, Barbados, and St. Thomas. No place won their hearts quite like Sanibel Island, which they visited regularly both while raising their family in Michigan, and after they retired to Lecanto, Florida. In addition to her work as a travel agent, Bobbi worked as a "Kelly Girl" for Kelly Services agency, where she was assigned to Chrysler, one of many Borowskis to work in the family business known as the auto industry; she also managed the fine jewelry department at Foland's, an experience well-suited to her love of fashion and jewelry.
Deeply dedicated to caring for her family, Bobbi still made time for her passions. A lifelong sports fan, she enjoyed cheering for the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers, but added the Tampa Bay Rays and Lightning to her squad after becoming a Florida resident.
She enjoyed staying active and had a host of hobbies, including racquetball, bowling, gardening, and ceramics.
Bobbi is survived by her children, Mark, Sue (Gloria Graham), and Brian, and grandchildren Jaclyn, Rachel (Adrian), Mark (Taylor), Tommy, Joey Christunas, and Drake Borowski.
In lieu of a service, Bobbi and Jim's ashes will be spread in Sanibel Island, their favorite place, and desired resting spot.

Knowing her children, she must have been an amazing woman ascthese kids are stellar human beings!! Their upbringing was obviously a loving one as Mark and Sue are some of the best people I knew throughout high school.

My sincerest condolences on the loss of a truly kind and caring soul. Both Bobbi and Jim were my patients for many years, I was their dental hygienist in Crystal River. I know how devoted Jim was to her, even when he started to decline, and roles reversed. I retired last year but had lost track of her, we also use to see the same hairdresser years ago. Many good memories of both of them.
Prayers for your family as you miss her.
