Born on March 22, 1942, in Indianola, IA. Roger Swanson Bortell left this world on November 1, 2024 at the age of 82. He resided in Inverness, FL. at the time of his passing.
Roger was a US Veteran having honorably served our country. After serving in Germany, he retired from the military and became Manager for a car rental company. After that he moved to Citrus County and worked for Citrus County in the transit department.
Roger loved all kinds of sports and enjoyed watching on TV. By far his favorites were watching the University of Miami and the Dolphins. He also enjoyed playing and watching golf.
Roger was pre-deceased by his parents, Harry Bortell and Helen Bortell. He is survived by his brother, Robert F. Bortell (Joyce) of The Villages and a sister, Harriet Day of Lecanto and many nieces and nephews.
Burial with Military Honors will take place at FL National Cemetery, Bushnell, on Friday, November 29 at 10:30 AM.
