Thelma Ferguson Obituary

Thelma L. Ferguson, 94, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Cypress Cove Care Center, Crystal River, FL. A native of Akron, OH, she was born August 24, 1922 to Norman C. and Lula LaRue (Smith) Schlemmer, one of six children. Thelma moved to Homosassa in 1975 from her native Akron and was a lifelong homemaker, but also enjoyed her position as hostess of the former Little Inn Restaurant of Homosassa for a number of years upon reaching the age of 70.
She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Homosassa and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Joseph A. Ferguson, Sr. in 1982; two daughters: Judith Bailey and LaRue Ferguson, as well as her five siblings. Thelma is survived by two children: Joseph A. Ferguson, Jr. (wife Laura), Chenoa, IL and Sandra Watson (husband Charles), Sarasota, FL; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. from Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa. Friends will be received at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa at 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m.
