Brent REIDER Obituary

REIDER Brent Bair, husband of the late Mary Reider, died quietly at his home, April 24, 2006. Brent was born in York, Pennsylvania on September 19, 1951, son of the late Robert O. Reider, Sr. and Ann Beasley Reider. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from Upper Arlington High School, where he served as president of the acclaimed Upper Arlington Senior Concert Choir. He post-graduated Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, then moved to Cincinnati where he attended University of Cincinnati and became the chief engineer of classical music radio station WGUC-FM. He also engineered and recorded the Cincinnati Symphony's radio broadcasts for many years. Brent recently retired from Harris Corporation in Cincinnati, carrying on his life-long fascination with electronics by building and troubleshooting mobile satellite trucks. He was also an avid amateur radio operator and spent many years reaching around the world to other ham radio enthusiasts. Brent is survived by a sister, Aurelia Reider Davis and a brother, Rob Reider of Cincinnati, four nephews, three nieces, and five grandnieces and nephews. A memorial service, officiated by the Rev. Carl H. Beasley III, will be held Wednesday, June 7, in the chapel of the Vineyard Community Church, 11340 Century Circle East, Sharonville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society. May he rest peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord.
