Christopher R. Mayer, age 39, passed away tragically August 3, 2015. Loving husband of 15 years to Jennifer M. Mayer (nee Tepe). Devoted father of Daniel, Caroline and Elizabeth. Oldest son of Robert and Donna Mayer (nee Dieckman). Dear brother of Timothy (Yasmine) Mayer and Mary (Jeff) Lakarosky. Beloved son-in-law of Judy and Jim Tepe. Brother-in-law of Ben (Sarah) Tepe. Proud uncle of Natalie Lakarosky and Will and Nick Tepe. Chris worked for Procter & Gamble as a Section Head of Product Development. He had a passion for life but especially family and golf.Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Columban Church, 894 Oakland Road, Loveland, where friends will be received from 9 a.m. until time of Mass. I too was on this hwy when this tragic accident happened-although I didn't know Chris I have thought about him everyday and pray for God to give you and your children the strength and faith to carry on his legacy. At a time like this many people are angry and distraught at God and ask "why us"? There are no answers that will heal your grief you know that Chris would want you to be strong. I honestly believe that Chris did not know for a second what happened or if he could have avoided this accident. This has truly made an impact on my life and I wish I could hug each and everyone of you and help ease your pain-- please feel free to respond if you need to talk. On behalf of my entire family, we are so sorry for your loss. My family of four from Tucson were on our way home from a cross country road trip on I-65 and witnessed the semi truck come across our lane of traffic. We were probably 5 or 6 cars behind Christopher's. We feel horrible for your tragic loss. Chris Mayer made an impression from the very moment I met him. Coming back to P&G as a retired employee now a contractor - EVERY time I had interaction with him, I thought "wow-what a classy guy". He was immediately friendly and helpful. I will remember him as smart and the consummate family man. In just my short time working with him - he made it clear-his focus and happiness was his family. May his wonderful attributes live on through his & Jenny's children.
