I met Dennis at the Delta Tau Delta House at UC in 1970 I was a Freshman and he was probably a Senior. He was so funny...a memorable guy. Then I saw him again about 30 years later at Expressway Park when I was a 50 something playing on a neighborhood softball team. He remembered me and my brother from the Delt days. Sad to hear this news. Rest in Peace Denny........ you were a good man.

Betty, myself, and the staff at Expressway Park are so saddened by the loss of Dennis. Dennis began umpiring at Expressway Park over 20 years ago and he always presented himself in the upmost professional manner and became one of our top umpires in the organization, respected by players, managers, spectators and fellow umpires. He thoroughly enjoyed umpiring and the interaction with the players and became great friends with many of them. Never forget the time he sang the National Anthem with country star Toby Keith before a charity game at the park many years ago. I am proud to consider Dennis as a good friend and we all will miss him dearly at Expressway Park. Our prayers are with Maria and his family.

Our prayers are with the Carver family.Denny will be remember as one of the Home Orchard guys in the Springfield North High Class of 1965. I believe it was our 10th year class reunion and Denny send a letter stating he could not attend the reunion. He had changed his gender and she is now know as Denise. Everyone was talking about Denny and his/her sex change. Later on in the evening in walks Denny male as ever and he pulled one on all us. Iam so sorry for the Carver family loss. Denny will be remembered as one of the good guys in the SNHS Class of 1965.

To the Carver Family, My deepest sympathy to you all. Dennis was a delightful co-worker. As many of us at Convergy's can attest to he loved to sing, had a quick wit, a passion for coaching, and knew a little about so many things. He never cease to amaze me with his talents and abilities. Cherish your loving memories of him and know that he is resting in eternal peace...Charla Taylor

Dennis,
I am so sorry for your loss and my prayers are with the Carver family. I as well had great pleasure in working at Convergys with Dennis. He always got to work when I did and he would have me singing with him and always telling short jokes. He put a smile on my face so early in the morning and made for a pleasurable day and atmosphere.

Dennis was always such a happy person who found joy in almost anything, and thats how I will always remember him. He would sing songs and tell little jokes to make me laugh when I was having a rough day at Convergys. I loved sharing those jokes with my grandfather. Dennis will be truely missed. My prayers go out to the family.
With my Warmest Sympathy,

Dennis was my younger brother and I loved him very much. He was kind, loving, witty and intelligent. His smile could light up a room and his laugh was infectious. He loved to sing and he had a beautiful voice. He did love his family and mine with all his heart. I will remember him fondly for the rest of my life.
