Donna MAXWELL Obituary

MAXWELL Donna Marie Maxwell, 78, of Indian River Shores, Florida, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at VNA Hospice House. She was born October 29, 1931 in San Bernardino, California and had been a resident of Indian River Shores for 5 1/2 years. She was a long time resident of Cincinnati, OH and was employed as the Director of Volunteer Services at Good Samaritan Hospital, retiring in 1986. Mrs. Maxwell graduated with Honors from New Trier High School, Chicago, IL, in 1949 and from Northwestern University in 1953 with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Piano Performance. Mrs. Maxwell was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach and Northminster Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati. She was also member of Cincinnati Woman's Club, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity, Musica Sacra Chorus and Northwestern University Mortar Board. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Thomas L. Maxwell; sons, Preston W. (Kim) Grounds, III of Davidsonville, MD and James M. (Amy) Grounds of Swaziland; daughters, Leslie A. (John R.) Riddle of Colleyville, TX, Sarah L. (David) Minick of Boise, ID and Carol M. (Paul) Brueggemeyer of Cincinnati; step-daughters, Cynthia M. Mason of Cincinnati, Jennifer L. Maxwell of Cincinnati and Cathryn M. (Richard) Finke of Waukesha, WI and 15 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Northminster Presbyterian Church. Donations may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 703 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
