I used to live in Over-the-Rhine, at the same time as Ed was busily engaged there. We were always close friends at heart. I say "at heart" because the heart is more important than the head. And Ed knew this. It has been years since I have had morning coffee with Ed. But we shared a deep Catholic faith, among other interests, as I am reminded by seeing the reference to St. Ignatius Loyola Church. Ed used to be a handsome and dashing fellow. He always had a smile on his face, a hand for the downtrodden, and a sincere hope for the future. Now, however, he is with the angels. One among the highest of them. Even more handsome and dashing than ever! He will be in the Heavenly realm for eternity, and we must thank the Lord for having allowed him to come to our world for such a relatively short visit. Ed has done well for the Lord. May he be glorified in Heaven, and may we try to follow his fine example, in all of our humility, in the many years ahead.

Business books could be written on the right way he grew a family business, the countless accomplishments and accolades awarded, details of fortunes made, and the hundreds of lives that were positively impacted could all be listed...but Ed would never have wanted it that way. He is best remembered for being such an incredibly friendly, outgoing, kind and helpful person. I will never forget his smile and infectious optimism. The world was left a better place because of Ed Hubert. Rest in peace.

What a legacy Ed has earned...as a husband, a father, a brother, a grandfather, an uncle, as a servant of God....and touching so many. Even strangers. May the family find comfort in his life that was so LIVED!
My deepest sympathy, Sally Weiss

Joanne,
You and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. Ed was so supportive of the work we did in OTR in support of the affordable housing cause. He was always ready to help us financially but more importantly with his advice and contacts in the community. He will be greatly missed.

For over 20 years Ed was one of the chief cheerleaders and guardian angels of Crossroad Health Center, a Christian ministry that provides high quality health care for the poor of Cincinnati regardless of a person's ability to pay. Ed's enthusiasm and warmth were infectious. If there was a financial need at Crossroad, Ed was always there to quietly take care of it. If there was a new program in the universe that might help patients at the health center, Ed was there to push it. If some staff members were feeling worn out and discouraged by the challenges of the work, Ed was there to praise and encourage. Ed, your generous spirit literally blessed 1000's! You will be missed.
"Then the KIng will say to those on his right, '...inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world...whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'" Matthew 25

Ed was my mentor not only when I worked for him, but throughout life....We might not of talked frequently but when we did or met for coffee....I never left without learning something from him. What he taught me in business carried on into my life.....and taught me the true meaning of integrity, humbleness, giving back and never taking a short cut in life or business....that anything good takes time. This world will miss you and that energy that never ceased to end. Sending loving prayers to Joann and the entire Hubert Family....

Oh, Ed, what a hole you are leaving in so many hearts. Like a ripple in a pond, your generosity and example to your fellow man will go on and on. Your jitty jit energy kept everyone hopping and your smile lit up a room. For over 50 years I've admired your ability to make everyone around you welcomed, comfortable, and loved. You leaving so suddenly sent a shockwave through all the lives you have touched. You were well loved and respected and no one can leave this earth with a greater legacy.

It is with shock and sadness that I send condolences to the Hubert Family. I spoke with Ed last Friday and we planned to meet in a week or two. Ed was a generous donor to our families in Price Hill. He was a great champion and a tough critic of our work. He will be missed for the big things and the little things. Chellie
