Cincinnati - Gary L., beloved husband of Connie (nee Weil) Darpel. Loving father of Eric Darpel, Katie (Brandon) Speckman, Stacey (Sam) Ritter, Andrew (Molly) Darpel. Cherished grandfather of Anthony, Ben, Ellie, Kate, Lilli, Ashlyn, Abel and Benson. Caring brother of Kathy Shucktis, Allen Darpel, Sue Roland and the late Denny Darpel. Passed away Sat., July 27th, 2019. Age 68. Visitation will be held Thur., Aug 1st from 5PM until time of Funeral Service at 7:30PM, both at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 5527 Cheviot Rd. (45247). In lieu of flowers, Gary would ask that you Live, Love and share Laughter. www.mrfh.com

Dear Connie,
I am Jack Quinn’s daughter, Sherry Wirthwine, affectionate cousin of the Darpel family. I learned of Gary ‘a death and the death of Denny just days ago. My deepest sympathy and sincere apology of not paying mine , and my siblings’ respect, to you and all the family. Please know we loved Gary and will remember you in our prayers.

When I was growing up in Cincinnati in the early 1970's I would visit cousin Gary's family in the summer to hang out with his sister and my cousin Sue, their parents and the rest of his siblings. Gary could always be counted upon to provide the good natured older brother and older cousin teasing that boys of that age love to do to girls. And no matter how much Aunt Betty tried she could not get one of her delicious meals on the table without it being attacked the minute it was placed on the table by the 3 boys. I remember her smacking their hands away, including Gary, and saying ' WAIT a minute - we must say grace! " Rest in peace Gary and many condolences to your family.
