ACUS

Jack Allen. Beloved husband of Lois J. (nee Evans). Devoted father of Dennis (Toni), Gregory and Jonathon (Norma) Acus. Loving grandfather of Kathleen, Jacqueline, MacKenzie, Christopher and Sophia and 4 great-grandchildren. Brother of C. George "Bud" (Imogene) Acus. Brother-in-law of John (Alberta) Evans. Former longtime teacher and coach at Sycamore High School. Died Mon. Aug. 1, 2011. Age 77. Resident of Sharonville. Visitation Fri. Aug. 5, from 10:00AM until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon both at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd. (just South of Glendale-Milford Rd.) I am grateful to my relative Jack Acus, because he made up a genealogical table of his offshoot. His ancestor Thomas Acus(Acewicz) emigrated from Lithuania to Egypt and later to America about two hundreds years ago. Thomas' father Tomasz Asiewicz has signed the General Confederation of Grand Lithuanian Principality in 1764. The brother of Thomas was Bartolomew Azukas whose descendants also live in America.

It was a honor to have "Jack" Coach Acus as my teacher, and my football and track coach. Although I am saddened by his passing, I will always cherish what he taught me not only in the class room, but on the football field, on the track, and in wood shop class. All of his lessons have truly been valuable. My sincere sympathies go out to all of his family.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Acus family. Mr. Acus was a wonderful teacher. As a Sycamore graduate in 1990, I always used to sign up for one of Mr. Acus's gym classes. We always had lots of fun. He always had a kind word to say to his students and an open heart to each one of us. He will be missed.

Dear Lois,Bud & Imogene, I was sad to read of Jack's passing. We are living in Ocala, FL now but I remember the last time I saw Jack, Bud & "Uncle George" at my Dad's (Ed Breezley) 75th birthday party at our home in Morrow, OH. Deepest sympathy to you all.

I remember Jack when I was a kid in Lockland. He was always so friendly with all us who were younger than him. I was a friend of Lois Henrich (who was a cousin to Jack) and lived across the street from her so I learned a lot about the Acus brothers growing up. My prayers go out to all his family. May you all feel the love and peace of God at this time.

Hello Louis, I just found out about your loss. I did not know Jack but I heard from school mates Jack was down to earth person. I new brother Bud from Sycamore as he taught me several classes. They were two of a kind to me. Prayers are with you and your family. Jack will be leaving a great world but he will live great life with God.

Dear Lois and family:
Jean & I would like to express our sincere sympathy for your loss. We had been told of Jack's illness, but hoped he would have gotten better.
I remember the times I came to your home (in Harrison) to spend the night because of the snowy conditions. We would spend the time playing cards with Bill Dosch, Jack Laughlin, and others into the wee hours of the morning.
We always thought school would be called off, but that didn't happen too often. Mr Swisher always relied on his ability to get out of his driveway, and if he did, he would not call off school for that day.
Jean & I always thought of you two, and considered you good friends. We will miss Jack.
