Janet Laber Obituary
Alexandria - Janet Laber , age 94, a resident of Seasons of Alexandria, peacefully went to her heavenly home on June 7.
Janet was born in Newport, Kentucky on August 3, 1923 to Catherine and Michael Walgroski and was raised there with her sisters Norma and Rita. She loved to share stories of her childhood with the family, particularly the grandchildren and great grandchildren. They will forever remember her "ice-ball" story. Janet was a resident of Fort Thomas, Ky. for over 60 years where she and Charles, her husband of 62 years, raised their six children , Sue (Cliff) Perkins, Steve (Mary) Laber, Faye (Rick) Silverstein, Pete (Nancy) Laber, Mike (Patty) Laber and Chip (John) Laber-Kirst. Janet also had 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Janet enjoyed sewing, decorating her home and cooking for and entertaining her family and friends. She delighted in hearing all of the family stories at the family parties and laughed hardily as all of the children shared tales about the Laber family experience. She was a faithful member of St. Thomas Parish, and was actively involved in the St. Thomas Mothers Club and Bowling League. She also enjoyed Campbell County Homemakers and her nearly daily visits to the Ft. Thomas Swim Club of which she was a founding member.
Janet was laid to rest at St. Stevens Cemetery, Ft. Thomas. The family will receive visitors at St. Thomas Church, Ft. Thomas on June 15 at 6:00 pm with a Memorial Mass to follow at 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Church or the Seasons of Alexandria. The family is extremely grateful for the excellent and loving care Janet received from everyone at the Seasons.
