ZERHUSEN

John F., age 94, passed away on September 14, 2015, in Cincinnati. He was born on November 10, 1920, Jack "Tiger Z" was raised in Covington, Kentucky, attending St. Augustine Parochial School and Holmes High School. John enlisted in the U.S. Navy during March of 1941 and served honorably for six years during World War II. He worked at Litwin Diamond Company for over forty years, starting as an errand boy and eventually earning the title of Vice President for Litwin-Zale Company. John finished his career as a salesman for Reising Jewelers, retiring in 2005, at age 85. Survived by his children, Armella (Ferd) Dornbusch, William (Janet) Zerhusen, John (Ann) Zerhusen, Edward (Vicky) Zerhusen; grandchildren, Lori Friedhoff, Michelle Dornbusch-Wilson, William (Erica) Dornbusch, Jeanne (Richard) Songy, Jennifer (Doug) DeTellem, Michael Zerhusen, Daniel Zerhusen, Jordan (Sarah Konnagan) Jeffries, Aubrey (Ben) Herndon, Brian (Kristy) Brennan, Jeff Brennan, and Elizabeth (John) Gabbard; great-grandchildren, Brennan, Darrah, Kyle, Jared, Jake, William, Andrew Dornbusch, Dylan, Andrew Songy, Alexa, DJ, Lilly, Dominic; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emelie. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday 9/18/15 at 11:00 am at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 5222 N. Bend Rd., Cincinnati, 45247. Visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3300 Parkcrest Ln., Cincinnati, 45211 on Friday 9/18/15 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. www.NewcomerCincinnati.com

I'm sorry to hear of Uncle Jack's passing but he is now in the best place of all and everyone in heaven is enjoying his practical jokes and sense of humor. Know my prayers are with all of you; Armella, Bill, Jack and Ed.

I'm sorry to hear about Jack. (The last time I saw him, about 3 years ago, he was sitting about eight rows in front of me at a Reds game. I noticed he was drinking a beer so I had the beer vendor deliver him a bottle of whatever he was drinking & say that "the guy eight rows behind you got this". He turned around to look and I stood up and waved to him (but I don't think he knew who it was).
Jack was a true gentleman, a very classy man. Also a great handicapper! Just a great guy.
