I cannot list here all of the attributes of this most outstanding person and professor -- he was simply the "best-of-the-best"! It is amazing how many times I find myself "using" what he taught me to understand something in the criminal law that still comes at me everyday while listening to the news or podcasts, etc. Being in the military and departing the University of Cincinnati when I did it was had -- as it always is/was as both a "military brat" and then as a career military professional -- to stay in touch with all who had touched our lives in such special ways. The only regret I have today, besides knowing now that he is certainly with God above, is that I did not know of his passing when it occurred. God Bless you Professor Aplin and most importantly your family and all that loved you -- you made an indelible mark on all of us; and a wonderful one at that!

Professor Aplin was next to my doctoral chairman, absolutely the best professor I ever studied under and he could not have been more generous with his time and intellect and a pure gentleman. The world is a "lesser-place" withour him.
