Michael W. Burns, age 53, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Sunday. July 20th, 2014. He was the owner of Mount Lookout Shoe Repair for 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Kay Burns; son Michael Burns Jr.; daughter Amber Burns and the light of his life grandson Weston Michael, all of Cincinnati, OH. He also leaves his parents Michael and Carol Burns, sisters Lisa Moores and Shellie Brune of Cincinnati, OH and sister Laura Beth Buel of Punta Gorda, FL. A memorial visitation will be held Monday, July 28th, 2014, from 10:30-11:30 with a funeral mass at 11:30am all at Holy Cross Church, 3612 Church Street Covington, Kentucky 41015. I think of you often, Mike. If we could just turn back time and revisit those old days of our youth again. Those were some carefree, happy days that I will cherish forever. The memories are priceless and continue to make me smile and giggle to this day. I miss you.

Mike started out a few years after me. He always wanted me to do talk radio. I remember when he took over Ludlow Shoe. Boy, those were the days. I'll never forget you Michael Burns. You had a good heart. You were always nice to my kids and we always had great 'man-to-man' talks. Rest in Peace my brother. May peace and everlasting calm find a way to nourish your survivors.

I am so sorry to hear the news of Mike passing. I did not get to see him much growing up. We were cousins spending our life in different states or at times, different countries. I do remember some summers seeing him. He was always full of energy and a very friendly cousin. I always thought he was a great looking cousin to have. I recently lost my brother. Just about the same age as Mike. It feels like a piece of me died when he did. I am sure that is how you are feeling now too. You will think about him daily and things will remind you of him. Just remember that he would want you to be happy, all of you. I wish I could be with your family at this time. Hugs to the Burns family from your Berger cousins.

I just wanted to tell the family how sad I am that Mike is gone. He was a great guy, as I had grown to know him over these 30 years. He was a leather guy, through and through. Always there for everyone and I always looked forward to seeing and talking to him, even though I moved away from Cinti many years ago.
