POOL Monte J. 72 years old. 11/18/34-5/22/07. Wife Guyneth V. Pool. Married 54 1/2 years. Children: Sons Jan Douglas Pool and Roger Dale Pool; Daughter: Holly Ann Cromer; Grandchildren - Catherine Bolen, Jon Pool, Jacqui Pool Justin Pool, Sara Pool, 4 Great grandchildren. Taught for 33 year in Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Cincinnati; retired in 2001; Received the George Barbour Award in 1996 which recognizes excellence in teaching and furtherance of good student-faculty relations; he was a great influence on many students throughtout his career.He had his body donated to the Department of Anatomy at UC so he could continue to teach in death as he did in life.No services to be held per his wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Monte Pool Scholarship Fund at the University of Cincinnati College of Material Science and Engineering.He is listed in the public library in Stuttgart, Germany as "A great American Scientist."
