Glenn Joseph Bathalter passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, with his family by his side. He was proud to be the longest living Bathalter at 94 years and 200 days.Glenn was born on July 21, 1931, in Covington, KY, the only child of the late Elmer and Anna (Crabtree) Bathalter. Glenn attended Holmes High School in Covington, KY.
Glenn’s life was defined by a strong sense of duty and a hard work ethic. Glenn was a veteran of the Korean War, having enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps only three days after his 18th birthday. He was a successful businessman who owned and operated several companies, primarily the Ohio Valley Credit Exchange.
A devoted family man, Glenn cherished every moment as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was known for getting the family together every Friday for his famous “Hamburger Friday’s”. Glenn was known for his extremely giving nature and his willingness to care for others.
Glenn will be greatly missed by his loving friend, Jean Schwemberger, who brought joy and companionship into his life for the past 12 years.
He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years Patricia (O’Leary) Bathalter, his son Timothy Bathalter and daughter Tina Connolly.
Glenn is survived by his daughter Linda (Rick) Laggenbauer, sons Dan (Cindy) Bathalter, and Bob (Annie) Bathalter and daughter-in-law Jennifer Bathalter. His grandchildren: Adam (Nicole) Bathalter, Annie (Carl) Morgan, Edward (Heather) Laggenbauer, Martin (Janell) Laggenbauer, Ashley (Mark) Radcliff, Nick & Andrew Bathalter, and Marvel (Matt), Bailey & Bobby Bathalter, along with three adored great-grandchildren.
A Mass celebrating Glenn's life will take place on February 13, 2026, at St. James of the Valley in Wyoming, Ohio, beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Cincinnati.
