Jeffrey D. King

Jeffrey D. King, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and community member, passed away peacefully at his home on January 28, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on July 31, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeff lived a life devoted to family, service, and his community.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathy King; daughters, Jen Brown and her husband Erik, and Becky Silver and her husband Tom; son, Jeff King and his wife Kayla; grandchildren, Annabelle, Ryder, Luke, Max, Vivienne, Violet, Nelson, and Chloe; and sister, Tracy Mauer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his kindness and enthusiasm for life.

Jeff joins his parents, Nelson and Sara King; his sister Jeannette (Lynne) Boude and brother-in-law Jim Boude; brother-in-law Michael Mauer; brothers Timmy and William King; and parents-in-law Jim and Mary Schad in eternal rest.

Jeff was a proud member of the US Air Force, where he served two tours in Vietnam.

He found immense happiness in coaching and attending the countless sports events and activities of his children and grandchildren. Nothing made him prouder than watching them thrive, showcasing their talents, and being involved in their lives.

Jeff was known as the “Voice of the Cowboys,” with the Wyoming Press box being a second home. He spent decades announcing Wyoming High School Sports. His contributions to the local athletic community were recognized in 2022 with his election into the Wyoming High School Athletic Hall of Fame. His voice resonated not only in the gyms and fields, but also in the hearts of all who had the joy to hear him call the games.

He found a true passion and love officiating hundreds of weddings, including those of his own children and many dear friends and family members, celebrating love in all its forms.

Jeff was known for his caring and generous spirit. He loved serving others and shared his affection for family and friends unconditionally. Within the community, he was a truly revered member of the community and was recognized by winning Citizen of the Year for the City of Wyoming.

His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him, as his legacy of love, service, and community will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind. There will be a void where his laughter and encouragement once echoed, but his memory will be cherished through the lives he influenced and the love he shared.

A Memorial Visitation will take place at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center 322 Wyoming Ave, Wyoming, Saturday, February 7th from 12 Noon until 2:00, with a Memorial Service from 2-2:30PM. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow until 4PM at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Wyoming High School.
