Peter Mccarthy Obituary
Peter J. McCarthy Sr. retired to the 19th hole Saturday August 12th, 2017.
Born 3/3/33 in Cincinnati to Francis X and Vera B McCarthy nee Klotter. Survived by his sister Mary Pat Ret. Preceded by his wife Mary Ellen McCarthy nee Hogan and survived by their 5 children, Peter J. McCarthy Jr (Paula McCarthy) daughter Hannah McCarthy, Thomas G. McCarthy (Marie MacLeod), Molly A. McCarthy, Catherine E. Hogan nee McCarthy (Richard Hogan) and son Bryce Hogan and Sean P McCarthy (Brenda Schultz) sons Brendan and Damian McCarthy. Peter attended Xavier High School class of 1951 and Xavier University class of 1954. He was the past President of the Xavier Musketeer Club in 1971. Peter had a lifelong career in the Insurance claim business. He was a third-generation member of the Friendly Sons of St Patrick. He also had a lifelong devotion to Xavier Basketball, sports of any kind. To all of you Sensitive New Age Guys, pass the Mustard! Visitation at St. Clare Church 1443 Cedar Ave. College Hill 45224 on Wednesday August 16 from 10 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. I will be attending Xavier basketball games again this year. At every game I will think of you, Uncle Pete, with joy while I am cheering our beloved Musketeers to victory.

Pete was always smiling and warm when I spoke with him at anything XU. Friend of my father's as well as his sons.
Although I did not know Pete well. I always enjoyed our conversations and company. Pete is one of those guys in my life that show God's Grace in our lives.
Apologize for not attending funeral but had something come up. Prayed for his safe quick passage to heaven today at our local church. RIP Pete!

Deepest sympathy to the entire McCarthy clan. Mr. McCarthy always treated a bunch of overzealous, hormone infected teenage boys like real people.
I always appreciated and respected his kind and welcoming manner. Rest in Peace.

Pete, I am sorry for your loss. Just from reading the obituary your father sounded like a great man, I am sure you will miss him it is the end of a bygone era.i am sorry I could not attend the service see you soon,HOEY.
At the lake in Michigan during high school. Peter was there with family including cousins.

What I will miss most about my uncle is his sense of humor. He had a way of looking at life with a twinkle in his eye. He didn't take himself too seriously so he was a joy to be around. I especially enjoyed our conversations about Xavier basketball.
