Sheila, Your sweet husband was so kind to me when I worked for him at U.S. Shoe Corporation. I respected him so much. When he praised my work on the company's annual reports, I was so honored. I was a single Mom at the time and he remembered my daughter Perry's name and asked about her regularly. I am so sorry for your loss. I will remember him in my heart forever.

Phil was a unique man sharing his warmth and kindness with an incredible intellect. I hold on to and cherish the encouraging memos and letters that he sent to me over the years. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with the Barach family.

I want to share something that Phil did for me several years ago. I was an attorney for the US Shoe Corporation in 1986 when I was stricken with a brain aneurysm . Phil took a personal interest in me and called my wife several times with uplifting thoughts. The conversations were about how she would have to be strong for me and that recovery would be long and difficult. He was able to tell her not to worry about finances and my check would be continued. I recovered slowly and returned to work. I am now 65 years old and a retired lawyer. I will never forget the human feelings that Phil expressed to my wife. It made me feel like I was part of the family and I shall never forget the sincere thoughts that he conveyed at such a difficult time in my life. I will always have a special place in my heart for Phil.

Phil was a dear friend and mentor to my father, a kind and wise leader, and always a cheerleader and supporter for our entire family over the past decades. A wonderful human being who made a huge difference to so many people. A great and humble leader who cared for his associates, like family, and set a standard and example of leadership rare on this planet. A privilege and honor to have know him, worked together, and been able to share his unique energy and spirit over many years.

Phil was a wonderful, lovely man. I always enjoyed his visits or speaking to him on the phone, especially when Daddy died. He wrote his obit for us. I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my husband the 4th of August so I know how difficult this time is for everyone. You are so fortunate to have all of your children and grandchildren around you now. You all will be in my prayers. God Bless Sheila. Love Susie Smith Horner (mother sends her love too)

Greetings to the Barach family. Though I never met Philip, I was a friend of Bev and Carl Siple when they lived in Cincinnati and they spoke very highly and with the utmost respect of him. I had done some work for the Siple's and Phil sent me an email or a card telling me how happy they were with what I had done for them and that made Philip very pleased and wanted to express those feelings to me. What a very thoughtful gesture. I believe the working relationship between Phil and Beverly was very special, professional and lasting. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family as you mourn Phil's passing. Rest assured his legacy will have a far reaching affect and his footprint on the business arena will be felt for years to come. Philip, you lived a life of greatness with much success, yet you were humble and compassionate to those around you. Shalom, my friend and Godspeed to your loved ones. Sincerely, Jack A. Diebold, Deer Park, OH.

Sheila,
Please accept my deepest sympathy in Phil's passing.
I will always remember his kind, caring ways and his famous memo's during my tenure at U S Shoe! Jim and Marty both would send their love to you and I know they took many "Phil memories" with them.
With so many of his Shoe family members going before him, just maybe there's going to be a a huge reunion party going on that unfortunately we won't be present for.
My love to you, your boys and their families.

Phil was a wonderful leader and friend to all of us at U.S. Shoe.
