Randy is truly unforgettable. A culmination of kindness, goodwill, sensitivity, he never left anyone's presence without them feeling valued and respected. His incredible sense of humor brought tears of laughter. His spirit so wonderfully impacted my life - how blessed am I to have been in Randy's bright light. I was shocked to hear of Randy's death. He was my principal at Cottonwood for a year; and was one of the nicest, most sincere, most loved person I have ever met. I then reconnected with him at Friendship Methodist Church. I had asked him if there was any interest in applying for Superintendent position in Finneytown. I guess I wasn't the only one. Everyone wanted him to apply! He did...and when he was superintendent accomplished great things. He was so good to work with, and as I said, loved by all! He was the best superintendent I have worked with. In fact, we bring that up at school all the time. I will miss him.

Randy was one of the few guys at NHS that gave one the impression that he would be doing great things in his future! He was always kind to me and I really appreciated that he was so caring. I am better for having know him!

He was a wonderful man and a wonderful principal and superintendent! He really made a difference at Cottonwood. From the family involvement team to writing the 5th grade plays, to the pledge and so much more. My kids can still recite the Cottonwood pledge and they are 25-32 years old. He had such integrity and cared for every student as if they were his own. He will be greatly missed!

I am so sorry to hear about Randy's passing. He was one of my first playmates when his family lived in New Richmond. I had the chance to catch up with him a few years ago when he brought his parents to a New Richmond High School alumni banquet. The years melted away. What a wonderful man. My sincere condolences to the family.

What a loss. I feel privileged and grateful to have been Randy's colleague during most of his years in the Finneytown Local School DIstrict. He was the consummate professional, both as Cottonwood Elementary's Principal and as Superintendent. I was always appreciative of his dedication to students and faculty, his keen wit, his interest in me as a person as well as one of his faculty members. Although he was my boss as principal and superintendent, I always felt treated as an equal -- and as a friend. We have all lost a special person, and my deepest condolences go out to Randy's family and closest friends.

My heartfelt condolences to the Parsons family. Randy was both a colleague school administrator and dad of two fine young students at Sycamore Junior High School. I always appreciated Randy's quiet and thoughtful manner while dealing with the stresses of school leadership. His heart was always what's best for kids. To retire and then devote his retirement years to serving the young people at Loveland UMC is a testament to his love for God, families, and young people. May his resurrected life be celebrated even in the difficult and unanticipated days of saying goodbye.
With much sympathy,

I work at the nursing home where Randy comes to see and care for his mother. He was a gentleman through and through - easy-going, friendly, intelligent, humble, grateful to us for any good - big or small - done for his Mom. All of us who knew Randy are saddened beyond words and will miss his presence. Yes, the world has indeed lost a wonderful human being. Rest in peace, Randy. May Almighty God comfort and bless his family.

Randy and I first met his freshman year at Miami when I was his RA. It was soon apparent that he was a motivated, humble, compassionate, and fun-loving kind of guy. We became good friends throughout that year and then were roommates 2 years later.
I count it as a blessing to have been able to know Randy; the world has lost a wonderful human being.
