Robert Chandler Obituary
Cincinnati - Robert Guy Chandler was born in Cincinnati, on June 1, 1932 and was born into eternal life on April 19, 2018 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. His name was quite fitting as he was a really "good guy". A most loving supportive husband of Judy (nee Colacurcio) Chandler for 63 years, a respected and devoted father of Stephen (Joy) Chandler, Mary (Gregory) Massa, and Amy (Christopher) Gilles, an enthusiastic and involved grandfather "Papa" of Kyle, Brian, Cameron, Cate and Michael Massa, Maxwell and Madeline Chandler, and Ben and Will Gilles, son of the late Bob and Esther Chandler, and brother of the late Mark Chandler. In all his family roles he was a success, as he was in his academic and career life. Guy was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and Xavier University in 1954. Starred as the "lefty" pitcher on both schools' varsity baseball teams and he remained a loyal, supportive graduate of these schools his whole life. He also remained a Reds fan no matter their won or lost record! In later life his athletic spirit turned to golf and he was a member of Royal Oak/Stillmeadow Club for many years and enjoyed the competition and friendship. After his service in Germany in the Army's Field Artillery Corps in the 1950's, he became a successful marketing executive with Pillsbury Co. and then the Andrew Jergens/KAO Corp., retiring as executive vice president in 1992. Guy's life was well lived; priorities were faith, family, and friends. Many friendships and club memberships lasted over 60 years. He was devoted to his parish community, Immaculate Heart Mary Church, and served in many ministries. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Anderson Twp. on Thur. April 26, at 11:30 AM. Friends may visit at the Church on Thur. from 10-11:30 AM. Dear Judy,
I didn't really know you and Guy until we spent time together in Florida...you are both very special people. He will be greatly missed by many, and I'm sure there is a sad, empty space in your family.

I will keep the Chandler family in my prayers. There are certain people that are placed in our lives that are a positive influence in our lives and Mr. Chandler was one of those people. He was my basketball coach in the early 70's at IHM and later as a young adult in the high school church league. He was always positive, kind, and a person of faith that has influenced my life and led me to volunteer at my parish in NC and also a basketball coach. Thank you Mr. Chandler for sharing your time and making a difference. JIm O'Leary
