As so many others, I met Ruth at W&S where she was my first boss in my first job. She had a big influence on my life. She opened her home to us girls in a wonderful friendship. I have many pictures of our games of charades and our overnight parties. I have never forgotten her. May she Rest in Peace. Sylvia Kelley

I met Ruth working at the front desk at West Park. It turns out she knew my aunt & uncle from St. Martin's Place and we had some other common experiences since I grew up in Cheviot and went to St. Martin's, too. She was an extremely nice resident and everybody here liked her. We will miss her. Mary Riga Lively

Ruth was my first boss out of high school, my mentor, and she became a friend over the years to Wally, me, Amanda & Mallory. Back in 1976-1980 when I worked with her in the Treasury Services Department; she was the only female director at Western Southern at that time. We may not have realized the dynamic female trail-blazer she was in the corporate arena at the time. Of course she was intelligent, friendly, organized, and enjoyed her traveling experiences. Ruth continued touching the lives of many people in photography post her retirement. She collected music boxes from each of her trips, magnets and she liked Bird of Paradise flowers. She enjoyed life and I will remember her for her energy and her smile.

Ruth and my dad, Wally, were good friends from W&S. She took family photos of us in her photography days. As a kid, we'd visit Ruth every Christmas. I remember so many music boxes....she'd always play a few of them for my sister and me. My sister and I would play the old organ in the back room. We really just hit the keys because we couldn't read sheet music! And oh the magnets! She always had a new magnet or two to show off from her travels. The fridge was full of them! Each one more unique than the one beside it. Though not family to me, she always felt like family, and was the sweetest lady. She will be missed.

My heart goes out to you for your deep loss you must be feeling for your beloved Ruth. How sad to lose someone so loved and so needed. May you find comfort in prayer and in one another. (Jeremiah 29:12,13)
