Ruth (nee Smith), dear wife of 65 years to the late Ivan R. Grubbs, beloved mother of Terry (Barbara), Randell (Judy) and Lenny (Josie), devoted grandmother of Teri Lynn (Mike Franck) Grubbs, Keri (Andy) Hoff, Jason (Shannon McCormick) Grubbs, Amy (Dan) Bibee, Kyle (Kristi) and Kevin Grubbs, Emily (Rick) Pate, Dusty (Niki) and Derrik (Lisa) Grubbs, doting great-grandma of Emagen, Ethan, Russell, Morgan, Taylor and Christopher Grubbs, Carter, Charlotte and Caroline Pate, Lukas and Tessa Hoff, Katie & Michael Franck, Ava McCormick and Baby Bibee due in May. She is survived by her brother Jesse (Jeanie) Smith and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents Wm. Leon and Carra (nee Kidwell) Smith, her sisters Ruby Harmeyer (her twin), Lois Reese, Freda Swales, Saralee Callan and brothers Wilford "Tucker" and Loyd G. Smith and grandson Darrin Grubbs. Ruth was a devoted homemaker, seamstress, chocolate chip cookie baker and avid reader. Passed away Thursday, March 21, 2012, at age 88. Friends and family may call at Brater Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH, from 5-8 PM on Monday, March 26, 2012. Funeral service in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 27, at 10 AM. Burial to follow at Gibson Cemetery in Bright, IN. Memorials may be made to Miami Whitewater United Medthodist Church or Hospice of Cincinnati through the funeral home. www.braterfuneralhome.com
