Thomas ROHLING Obituary

ROHLING

Thomas Charles, age 48, of Loveland, OH entered a life of eternal peace and comfort on September 21, 2013 after a brief but fierce battle with bile duct cancer. Tom was born on August 12, 1965, in Neubruke, Germany to Theodore and Mary Ann Rohling. He was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering at USF Tampa and an MS in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. In 1991, Tom began his professional career as the Co-Founder / Vice President of Integrated Research. From there he went on to co-create Cinebase Software as Engineering Team Lead and Senior Programmer. This position took him to San Francisco, CA where he then co-founded eMotion, acting as Senior Programmer, Chief Architect and Development Manager. In 2002, Tom co-founded The Rookwood Group and was their Principal Consultant. After four years of consulting, Tom began a career with General Electric as an IT Leader that led global teams supporting the Engineering divisions. Outside of his professional career, Tom was an active member of Crossroads Community Church. Tom leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 15 years, Christine (Fricchione) and their children Lucas (13), Lillianne and Olivia (both 11). He was the cherished son of Mary Ann Diemunsch Rohling and Theodore Rohling of Cincinnati, OH. He was the dearly loved brother of Col. Andrew Rohling (Alicia) of Clifton, VA, Carol Rohling Johnson (Bruce) of Odenton, Maryland and Mary Kathryn Rohling Avery (Marc) of Cleves, OH. Tom was the cherished son in law of Arthur and Carol Fricchione of East Patchogue, NY. He is also survived by his sister in law, Jill Fricchione Herbert (Jason) of Warrenton, VA. He was the treasured uncle of Zachary, Aaron, Isabella, Jack, Carly, Jason Patrick and Grace. Tom is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and William Diemunsch of Dayton, OH and Alberta and Gerald Rohling and step grandfather, Howard Muth of Dayton, OH. Tom was a friend to all he met and leaves behind many dear friends. Tom's greatest achievement was being an extraordinary father and teacher to the three most important people in his life, his children, Luke, Olivia and Lilly. He lived a purposeful life creating a legacy for his children, one that etched upon each child their amazing worth. He challenged them to accept and use for good their God given gifts and abilities to change the world and make it a better and more beautiful place. He was a constant source of love and light for his children and will continue to light and bless their way. A prayer service will be held on Monday, September 30th, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the chapel at Crossroads Community Church, 3500 Madison Road, Oakley OH 45209. This service will be followed by a Celebration of Life for family and friends at the 20th Century Theater at 12:30 PM in Oakley Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Tom to the Rohling Family Scholarship Fund through any Fifth Third Bank. Checks can also be made out to Rohling Family Scholarship Fund and mailed to Maura Timko at 3528 Stettinius Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45208.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I worked with Tom at Logicalis a long time ago, and for some strange reason looked him up only to see the obituary. I enjoyed working with Tom.

Dear Mary Ann, Ted, and Family,
I was saddened to read the obituary of your precious son in today's Cincinnati Enquirer. When I saw "Diemunsch" in the obit, I knew it was a relative of Sr. Carol's. We worked together for many, many years at MND in Cincinnati, and I recall meeting you and so many other members of the Diemunsch family. Our prayers and deepest sympathy are with you all at this most difficult time.
