Doris Seitz

Doris S. Seitz, 85, of Ashville, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones at Berger Hospital. Doris was born on December 25, 1930, to Russell and Helen (Barr) Spangler, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Russell Spangler, Jr., Marvin Spangler, and Max Spangler; and sisters, Jeannette (Spangler) Martin and Olive (Spangler) Neff.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Harvey Seitz, children, Michael Seitz and Diana Green of Ashville, grandchildren Luke and Alex McVadon, Christopher (Jenny) Hegarty, Breana (Austin) May, Brooklyn Green, Ashley Dail, Amanda and Andrew Seitz, great grandchildren; Josh, Jordon, Michael, Angelina, William, Abigal, Josiah, Gracelyn and Paislee, brother Walton (Anabel) Spangler and many beloved nieces and nephews who referred to her as "Aunt Dorie."
Doris was a life-long member of East Ringgold UMC where she played the piano. She was a 1948 graduate of Walnut Township High School. She was the Clerk of Walnut Township Board of Trustees for 32 years.
Doris loved farming, gardening, music, and her family. She also had a love for travel. It was nothing for her and Harvey to pack up the car and travel around the USA. Her grandchildren were everything to her and what kept her going strong for years.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Logan Elm Health Care and the team of nurses at Berger Hospital for their exceptional care of our mom and grandma and for taking care of us, as well.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with burial to follow in Reber Hill Cemetery.
