Andrew Wisniewski Obituary

Andrew S. Wisniewski, 73, of Asheville, formerly of Elmwood Park, Ill., passed away on January 17, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Rona and cherished father to Walli Ann (Karsten) and Andrew (Johanna); brother to Stephan (Mary), Helen (John) Wojciekowski, the late Barbara Pesko, and the late Wanda (John) Chamski, all of Chicago; grandpa to Samantha, Alexander, Alexis and Julian; uncle to many nieces and nephews; and great friend to all who shared in his life. He doted on his grandchildren, Samantha and Alexander who were the light in his life. Born in Poland, Andrew moved with his family to Kinston, N.C. after World War II, and relocated to Chicago before retiring to Asheville with his wife of 42 years to be closer to his family. Andy was a U.S. Army veteran, an avid golfer, and faithful Chicago Bears and White Sox fan. He always said he'd come full circle, beginning and ending his life in North Carolina. He was a wonderful man and will be missed. Donations may be made to Beth HaTephila Congregation in Asheville, N.C. or to CarePartners.
