Virginia Beach, Virginia - E5 Machinist Mate 2nd Class, Brent Anthony Tilley, age 27, passed away on July 30, 2014.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Tony and Ginger Sutton Tilley of Canton. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James "Jimmy" Sutton; grandmothers, Ruth Ethel Hyde Sutton and Evelyn Freeman Tilley; great-grandmother, Flora Hyde; aunts, Annita Sutton Butler and Sharon Tilley Cordell; and a cousin, Gracie Jane Tilley. He was in the United States Navy for five years. Brent graduated from Pisgah High School in 2006 where he played football and was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Brent loved being a father to Taryn and Corbin. They were his heart and soul. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and sharing his faith. He was a member of the Xclusive Ryders Motorcycle Club and he also rode with 31st Street Solo Riders Motorcycle Club in Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of five years, Jessica Nelson Tilley; a daughter, Taryn Williams; a son, Corbin Tilley; a sister, Heather Tilley Lawrence and her husband, Derek, of Canton; paternal grandfather, Spencer Tilley of Clyde; four nieces and two nephews; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Morning Star Community Cemetery with Brandon Holloway and Reverend James Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. At the other times the family will be receiving friends at the home of Tony and Ginger Tilley, 41 Pearl Street, Canton.
