CECIL ADAM MACE

MARION - Cecil Adam Mace, 82, of Marion, N.C., passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville, N.C. He always enjoyed working in his yard keeping God's grass perfectly cut. Mr. Mace never met a stranger and always wanted the best for those he knew.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, DeWitt and Bobby Mace.

Surviving Mr. Mace are his wife, Jean Hogan Mace of the home; two daughters, Linda Mace McGee and husband, Gary, of Corolla, N.C. and Leslie Mace Turner and husband, David, of Denver, N.C.; one brother, Galen Jim Mace and wife, Jenna, of Marion, N.C.; one sister, Janie Mace Hogan and husband, Frank, of Summerville, S.C.; four grandchildren, Scott McGee and wife, Jenna, of Charleston, S.C., Jeffrey McGee of Corolla, N.C., Megan Turner of Denver, N.C. and Justin Turner of Denver, N.C.; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at East Marion Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Hall officiating. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Aunt Jean, Linda and Leslie,
I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Cecil. I only heard this weekend (9/30) and it saddens me greatly. I wih I had known earlier, as Presbyterian Hospital is only around the corner from me (I live in Vermillion at Huntersville). Cecil was always so kind to me and I feel blessed to have had him for an Uncle.

Leslie, Linda, Mrs. Mace and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Mace was an amazingly wonderful man. For more than 30 years, every single time I hear a beautiful whistle I think of him ...whistling while he worked building the house. It didn't matter which tune he was whistling, he made really gorgeous heart-soothing music! I'll never forget that. I'm thinking of you all right now and thankful that you have one another.
