Charles Baker Obituary
Greeneville, TN / Marshall - Charles "Charlie" James Baker, 49, of Greeneville, TN and formerly of the Big Pine community in Madison County, NC went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.
Charlie was born on August 4, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan. He was employed by Southern Concrete Company for 18 years and was a member of Lower Big Pine Baptist Church. Charlie is the son of Norman and Irene Thomas Baker of Marshall. He was a devoted father, loving husband, a caring son, a dear brother and a friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Baker.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Barbara Sprouse Baker; son, "Little Charlie" Baker of the home who is Charlie's pride and joy; mother, Irene Baker; mother-in-law, Elva Brinkley of Mars Hill; siblings, Cliff (Audrey) Baker, Clay Baker, Carolyn Lewis, Celena (Matthew) Garrett and Craig Baker; brother-in-law, Lee (Alice) Sprouse; sister-in-law, Darlene Roberts; nieces, Jessica Harwood, Josie Bradley, Leah Garrett, Alison and Rachel Sprouse; nephews, Joey Lewis, Mitchell, Coleson and Benjamin Garrett and B.J. Roberts; great-nieces and nephews, Lily, Lainy, Lydia, Preslea and Phillip.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home with the Reverends Roger Massey, Danny Little and Cliff Baker officiating. Burial will follow at the Baker Family Cemetery on Big Pine.
The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
