I was thinking of Charlie today and looked him up to discover his passing. So sorry to hear of the families loss. I worked briefly with Charlie as his trainer when he left the grocery business to come to the drug store business. He used his talent and experience to quickly move to manager. We worked as peers for several years. Great guy! He always loved talking about his children. We had lots of shared lunches at Eckerd 1259 in West Columbia; he loved the take out buffet and several other local spots, always volunteering to go out to pick up lunch. It was a pleasure to have worked with him and to have known him.

I'm really sorry to hear about this. Charlie was my manager at the Harris-Teeter in Morganton in 1977 and was a great fellow. He gave me a break when he gave me the job and I've always appreciated it.
