Fred J. Plimpton III

Asheville - Fred J Plimpton III, 74, of Asheville, N.C. died Friday, January 25, 2019 at Mission Hospital.

Fred was born February 22, 1944 in Brooklyn N.Y. and was married to the Rev. Barbara Wilson Plimpton. He was an archivist in Colorado, a nutrition administrator in Maine, and executive director of VISION in Asheville. He liked jazz and chamber music, and playing bridge, He was a kind, generous man who walked gently on this earth.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m.at St Giles Chapel of the Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community.

Memorial contributions may be made to All Souls Cathedral Outreach Program, 9 Swan St, Asheville.
